It’s not fair on Frankston sports clubs that they miss out while Daniel Andrews spends $300 million to rebuild Etihad Stadium. Frankston deserves better and that’s why the Liberal Nationals would spend that money on our local sporting clubs. If elected, the Liberal Nationals will invest $650,000 to provide new lighting for night games and training at the Frankston Dolphins VFL ground.
Installation of broadcast-quality (800 lux) lighting will allow for night games and other evening events and entertainment at the ground. Labor MP Paul Edbrooke would rather spend this money on a ballroom in Etihad Stadium while Liberal Candidate Michael Lamb wants to invest and improve Frankston’s local sports grounds and clubs.
Comments attributable to Leader of the Opposition Matthew Guy:
We should improve our local sports clubs in Frankston, not build a ballroom in Etihad Stadium. A government I lead will give local sporting clubs, like those in Frankston, the support they need to encourage a healthy and active community.
Comments attributable to Liberal Candidate for Frankston, Michael Lamb:
Frankston deserves this cash a lot more than Etihad does and that is what I have fought for. This lighting will vastly increase the versatility of the Frankston Dolphins VFL ground to cater for more games, trainings and events.
